| Dick Nolan, Best Of, Sony/BMG. Dick Nolan was apparently a Maritime sensation in the early 70she and his band released a fistful of albums for RCA, his first few selling well into the hundreds of thousands alone. That puts Nolan into Stompin Tom or Corb Lund territoryregional hero with outsized record sales. He also trod the same musical terrain as they do, setting most of his Newfoundland themed songs to a basic country/folk stomp. Its aged pretty damn well, actuallycheck out the poker faced "The Fella That Looked Like Me" or his wry paean to isolation, "Thank God Were Surrounded By Water." |
